How to Find Work as a Freelancer with Freelancing Expert, Chizobam Wisdom Elemba

As a freelancer, finding work and clients can be very stressful, but to achieve that, it requires a strategic approach. As an Administrative Assistant and Customer Support Specialist with 5 years of experience as a freelancer, these strategies below have helped me book remote roles. I have worked so hard to upskill in my niche by having a good understanding of CRM and project management tools, such as HubSpot, Zendesk, Intercom, Salesforce, Freshdesk, Apollo.io, and Calendar management. These skills and more have helped me in my freelancing career. It is important always to be ready to learn new things that will help you to stand out. I wanted to share some of these strategies with other freelancers, so here are some best practices to follow to improve your chances of finding work as a freelancer:

Build a strong online presence: Have a professional website that showcases your skills and portfolio. Use social media to promote your work and connect with potential clients. Sign up for online freelancing platforms like Upwork, Freelancer, or Fiverr to find more opportunities for me. LinkedIn is my best means of connecting to recruiters and building a strong network!

Network: Attend industry events, join professional associations and groups, and participate in online forums or communities where potential clients are active. Build relationships and make connections with others in your field and related industries.

Focus on a niche: Identify a specific area of expertise and focus on building your skills and reputation within that niche. This will make you more attractive to clients who are looking for specialized skills and knowledge.

Be proactive: Don't wait for clients to come to you. Reach out to potential clients and pitch your services. Create a compelling pitch that showcases your skills and experience and demonstrates how you can solve their problems.

Be responsive and professional: When you do receive inquiries or job offers, respond promptly and professionally. Be clear about your availability, rates, and expectations. Deliver high-quality work and meet deadlines to build a positive reputation and encourage repeat business and referrals.

By following these best practices, you can attract more clients and build a successful freelance career.

I also provide Virtual Assistant Services to people who are too smart to be too busy, including:
